Wright's mom got paralyzed. Which I guess means she had like a stroke or something. Either way it sucked for Wright and his brother because they had no means of support. After the father's sucky performance as a father and his speedy getaway, his mother was his lifeline of sorts. Lifeline to food and shelter and income. She had always been around, always been a very strong force in his life. (Think, taking him to get stitches and then beating him for getting the stitches.) Either way, it was a huge blow to Richard and his brother, and it froze them into a tight spot. (Ha ha ha...froze...) But seriously, this meant that Richard had to take the reigns of the family and make the sacrifices that had been up to his mom up until this point in his young life. He was split up from his brother, and when given a choice of where to live, he picked the option closest to his ailing mother. This was a whole lotta change in not a lot of time, and Wright was forced to roll with all of it merely for the sake of survival. Along with, I guess, devotion or whatever. The family rallied around the kids and took them in, but Richard still felt this huge responsibility on his shoulders. He was a changed boy after his mom stopped moving. Literally.

Aly,

Even though ya did beat me, I still think I put more thought and effort into mine(because I spent more time on mine). And I had to explain how she became paralyzed to you. Whatever, anyways... I agree with you on how Wright felt a lot of responsibility after his mom's paralysis even though the neighbors and family members were there supporting him and his brother. Good Job(on the blog, not on beating me)!
