I would first like to say that I am very upset over the outcome of the superbowl. That whole thing was bogus, cardinals should have won.
Anyways, the commercials. I wasn't surprised. At all. By any of them. They all promoted sex, beer, success, with some feeble attempt at humor thrown in. I saw like, five million with the stupid horses that drag the beer around, which just got old. I also saw one that was hilarious...the 'LMAO' commercial...pure...pure...genius. I also enjoyed the one for career builder where it was talking about signs that you should start looking for a new job. Most commercials either aimed at the sympathy and feelings of the viewer or just simply tried to be funny. Most of the funny ones were not funny. Most of the 'touchy - feely' ones also did not inspire me. But I'm more cynical than your average old man, so I guess I don't really count. I have once again been let down by superbowl commercials. I feel like they don't live up to their hype. Oh well. Larry Fitzgerald is not human, John Madden is seriously challenged, and the half time show was played by someone who would in no way pose a threat of a wardrobe malfunction. Yet, I was glued to the screen the entire time. Way to go America, you got me agian.

I agree with the lack of inspiration, although I would have to say i know a lot more grumpy old men than easily-inspired ones. I think that John Madden talking was funnier than most of the "funny" commercials. I forgot about the LMAO one! Yeah, that was good. I would like to meet the people behind the commercials at some point, just to ask them where they come up with that stuff, because damn, that's hard.
I also liked Tina Fey endorsing Conan by saying "If your Conan lasts for over three hours, call a doctor."
