So as far as progress on my paper, what I have mostly been doing this week is doing some general research. I am trying to find some statistics around the salaries of other jobs too, such as doctors, lawyers, and teachers. This way I think I'll be able to show a little more of the scale these salaries are. Once you start talking about millions of dollars, its hard to really put it in perspective. I'm already working on the actual writing of my paper, and I'm mostly planning on just continuing fixing it up and working it down to something that wont earn me the red X of death. Lets hope.
Also my percussion concert is tonight, which, when added to basketball practice, equals a small amount of homework-ability. Just a fair warning.
Thats all.

It sounds like you are finding a lot of information on your topic. It is crazy how much money athletes make compared to ordinary people. Good luck with the rest of your paper!
i dont believe you that you type 103 words per minute. I think your paper will turn out well, Al Pal. I also think that the band concert was a hoot... except you left after the third performance. Anywho, keep up the good work.
It's good that you're finding so much information about your topic! It sounds like you're really informed and excited abotu your topic. I heard your concert went really well! (kind of off topic, but oh well)
That's a good idea, to compare other salaries. In addition to lawyers and doctors, you could consider adding in maids or fast food workers. It may be a different type of work, but they do work as much as doctors.
My dad and I were just talking about athletes' inflated salaries last night. You've got a really good topic!
Aly,
I like the idea that you are finding solid statistics to put in your paper. I think this will help for the basis of the argument. I also know how ya feel about the amount of homework you can get done, with bball practice and your concert(well done on your music p.s!!!)!

Aly,
Good job on finding all of that information for your paper! It sounds like you are on a good track for your paper.
(By the way: I can only type like 83 words per minute)
Sounds exciting. You really did have a lot to do that night. I think general research will be helpful to put it into perspective. I had to go with pros and cons, but if you manage to find a neutral statistical view point, which would be difficult on its own, than i think that'd really be beneficial for you at this point. It's too late for the first draft, but as far as things go, statistics could really help you out on your final long paper on whatever you propose.
It sounds like your topic could be fairly broad and I am sure you have narrowed it down, considering the amount of research you appear to be doing. I agree that when talking about millions of dollars here and there it can begin to become an ordinary number when it clearly isn't.
Aly-
There's no way you'll ever get the red X of death. That's only for people who are horrible at grammar. Anyway, I think comparing athletes' salaries to other professions is a great idea, since I have no idea how to wrap my head around multiple millions of dollars per year.
And congratulations on the 103 words per minute. That's what all the blogging will do for you.
